Our Aim

The playgroup is aimed at babies and pre-school children with a parent or guardian present.

Our main objective is to offer support to families as they introduce the Welsh language to their young child whilst living away from Wales. The group recognises that the first few months with a young baby are particularly important in establishing a language pattern, and at this early stage, support from others may be crucial. Support from a community will also enable the child to reap the benefits of bilingualism in the future.

We offer a fun and safe environment for the children to play, make friends, do a variety of activities and sing through the medium of Welsh.

All the activities during the session, and the socialising will take place through the medium of Welsh.

The group will also support the non-Welsh parent, and they will be warmly welcomed.

During the session there will be an opportunity for the children to settle and play, we will then say 'Bore Da' (Good Morning) in a circle, followed by singing a variety of Welsh songs, both traditional and modern. . After a snack and drink there will be an activity, then tidy up time, then time to enjoy a packed lunch together.
